The Lutheran Hour Float
2010 Tournament of Roses Parade

Float Theme
The theme for the 2010 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade is “2010: A Cut Above the Rest” and this year's float theme is “The Ten Commandments - Jesus Fulfilled.” 2010 marks our 62nd year of participation in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. The Lutheran Hour Float stands as the only Christian float participating in the world's most famous media event. An event that will be seen by more than 450 million people around the world.
Description
The 2010 Lutheran Hour Float is based on Matthew 5:17.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
The float depicts the Ten Commandments which God gave to his people to live by. Etched in stone are the “thou shalts and the thou shalt nots” for the world to see. However, since we and all people have failed to meet God's laws, God sent his only Son Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sins, so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life. God's love for his sinful people is a cut above that of all normal human love.
Also on the float is the “Ark of the Covenant,” a vehicle designed by God himself to remind people that He is always present with them even as they walk through trouble and the high waters of their lives.
Today, God continues to lead us now, not through an Ark, but through the Holy Spirit who leads us all the way to heaven. It is our prayer that the Holy Spirit would touch the hearts of those who would view the Lutheran Hour Float.
May the Lord bless you all in this new year of Grace.
