2012 Tournament of Roses Parade
God's Promise for All

Float Theme

The theme for the 2012 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade is “Just Imagine” and this year's LHM Float theme is “God's Promise to All.” 2012 marks our 62nd year of participation and the LHM Float continues to be the only Christian Float in the world's most famous media event.

Description

God's Promise for All is based on John 3:36, “Whoever believes in (Jesus) will have eternal life.” The float depicts God's greatest promise, a promise which He made to all—every male or female, young or old, to every nation around the world—that there is eternal life for those who believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for their salvation. Since we are all sinners and have failed to meet God's laws, God sent His only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and rise again to fulfill the laws on our behalf; promising us that all who believe in Jesus would have eternal life in heaven. The float is laden with symbols of the promises that are ours through a personal relationship with God: the picture of Jesus, who is the sole path to heaven; the stream of life where hope springs eternal; the doves, symbolizing a peace which will only be complete in heaven; and the butterflies which remind us of the new life which is ours in Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that the Holy Spirit would touch the lives of those who view the float, and that God's promise in Isaiah 55:11 would be realized, “It [My Word] will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

Riders

The 2012 Lutheran Hour Ministries Float riders are going to be lead by Rev. Greg Seltz, the new Lutheran Hour Speaker. Joining him will be LCMS members from Southern California Lutheran churches.

TV Viewing Tips (Home & Garden Channel is Best)

While the Tournament of Roses Parade is on most network channels, (ABC, CBS, NBC), the Lutheran Hour Float is not guaranteed coverage due to commercials and/or other TV commitments. For the best viewing of the parade, the Home and Garden channel shows the parade in its entirety on cable TV. Check your local listings for time and channel.
